Rules of discipline for students within the institution

“Follow me and you will be a better person leaving good impressions.”

 

  1. When you enter and walk inside the school one must walk “never run.”
  2. Talk softly.
  3. If you want to talk to someone far away, walk towards him, to keep from yelling.
  4. If you have any doubt, please ask questions respectfully.
  5. Eyes and ears are always alert to learn.
  6. Raise your hand for a chance to talk and wait for the teacher or the person speaking to answer.
  7. Sit correctly, take care of your body.
  8. Respect all things of the institution, remember they are for you and you have to look after them.
  9. Respect others and they will respect you as well.
  10. No horseplay or name-calling is allowed.
  11. Jokes are for fun, if there is no laughter then it is inappropriate.
  12. Respect the turn of others.
  13. Respect others’ things, if you need something ask for it with a “please”
  14. If you find something and do not know whose it is, give it to a teacher who will know what to do.
  15. Do not lie, truth is always best.
  16. Complete your homework on time, that’s called efficiency.
  17. Both boys and girls should pay attention in class and perform all work assigned.
  18. One should not eat during class.
  19. Communicate all needs, we will be happy to help.

DISCIPLINARY PENALTY TECHNIQUES

  • 1 check = warning (manners and respect)
  • 2 checks = 5 min less of recreation
  • 3 checks = 10 min less of recreation
  • 4 checks in the day or week = parents note written by the student.
  • 5 checks in the day or week = meeting with the director.
  • 6 checks in the day or week = meeting with parents.
  • 7 checks in the day or week = 10 pts less in the conduct grade.
  • R’s – Being irresponsible and disrespectful: Not on time with materials, tasks, schedules, etc.. Mistreating others and not how I would treat myself.
  • 3 R’s in the same week = 10pts less in the conduct grade.
  • 5 R’s in a month = 20 pts less in the conduct grade.
  • 6 or + R’s in a month = 3 day suspension.
  • The maximum of two consecutive months of R’s = Expulsion.

DAILY HOUSEHOLD RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bring your child to class on time (Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3.00pm)
  • Review and sign the Agenda every day.
  • Ensure that your child has the resources for good nutrition.
  • Ensure that your child has everything they need for a day of classes (personal, school, homework, projects)
  • Pick up your children on time (Monday through Friday at 3.00pm or 1.00pm on early release days) Every 15 minutes late without notice is a fine of 10,000 colones, payable at the time of picking up your child.

DOLPHINS ACADEMY OFFICIAL UNIFORM

Preschool (daily):

  • Dolphin’s Academy School Blue Shirt.
  • Official beige pants, shorts, short petticoat or underskirt (Paco store in Liberia or in Playas del Coco Ms.Leyla, 2670-0440).
  • Beige socks/stockings.
  • Black school shoes (not sports) that have been cleaned with shoe polish.
  • Black belt.
  • A change of clothes properly labeled and in a plastic bag with the student’s name. Any kind of jewelry is not accepted as part of the uniform.

Primary (daily)

  • Dolphin’s Academy School Turquase Shirt
  • Official beige pants, shorts, short petticoat or underskirt (Paco store in Liberia or in Playas del Coco Ms.Leyla, 2670-0440).
  • Beige socks/stockings.
  • Black school shoes (not sports) that have been cleaned with shoe polish.
  • Black belt.
  • Jewelry and makeup is not accepted as part of the uniform.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORM-all levels:

  • Dolphin’s Academy School Shirt and Shorts.
  • White socks.
  • White, blue or black shoes.
  • A shirt, WHITE OR BLUE, is allowed under the shirt daily.

OFFICIAL GALA UNIFORM – All Levels:

  • The same pants, shorts, pants, petticoat, stockings, shoes and belts that are worn daily at both preschool and primary school.
  • Polo shirt (with collar).
